Project Divinty - #5 ETShowcase 2009

Project was known as Divinity during the early years. This ambient project of Matti Paalanen (Last.fm user Michikawa) follows the footsteps of such artists as Vangelis, Global Communication and Boards of Canada. Soundscapes are mellow, drifting and contain no tight structures. The musical material of the project has two distinct sides, one being dark and brooding, the other lighthearted and beautiful. The project homepage is http://www.mikseri.net/divinity/.

JDVoid - #4 ETShowcase 2009

Jdvoid has been making music with computers since he was 7. He made a version of Elvis Presley’s “Love me Tender” on a 48k Timex. Years later, after studying classical guitar for about 5 years, and learning how to play keyboards at home, he had contact with sequencing on a computer with Scream Tracker, a PC version of his old Amiga. mod sequencer. Since then his life has taken a lot of turns, and he spent long periods of time away from computers (close to guitars and percussion). …Until about three years ago, when he got a laptop and the JdvOid project was born, giving him a “place” to finally try to express himself through sound.

Northcape - #3 ETShowcase 2009

Northcape is the ongoing work of a British artist (currently living in Brighton, England) who has been producing electronic music for quite some time, but self-released his first CD in 2005. Although most tracks (so far) don’t have lyrics, they are all drawn strongly from personal experience. The aim is to create music that expresses ideas and evokes environments, landscapes and memory rather than to focus on the technology and techniques used. Current work continues to widen and deepen Northcape’s style of melodic electronica, bringing in influences from a wide range of genres including IDM, electronica, shoegaze and ambient music.
